redesigning the Genezareth Church in Berlin to tell the story of inclusion
The Genezareth Church on Herrfurthplatz is not only a place steeped in history due to its location in the approach corridor of 'Tempelhofer Feld', but meanwhile also the center of one of Berlin's hippest, young and international neighborhoods – the Schillerkiez.

We were commissioned by the Berlin-Neukölln church district to develop an interior concept that would enrich the neighborhood with a modern meeting place and a venue for cultural and interfaith events.
The Genezareth Church was to become a place where everyone feels welcomed with open arms. In cooperation with Alexander Hagedorn, we developed a concept based on this vision, which supports the existing architecture and encourages people to think differently about the church as a place.
Floor cushions instead of hard wooden benches, bright colors instead of restrained gray tones, coziness instead of coolness and always the invitation to actively live out in the space, to creatively unfold and to look at life with a certain wink.
